Very little remains of the
Chicks early days. Even with several chart-topping country songs, the Chicks
were forced onto the fair circuit, sponsored largely by local radio station
(who would be laregely responsible for the Chicks initial success). This appearance
shot from the Prince William County Fairgrounds in Manassas, VA in 1998 is
no exception. Local country DJ's introduce the Chicks who can be seen entering
from a shoddy looking tour bus. Unfortunately, little remains of the concert-
whoever shot it only filmed in spurts, catching the opening bits of a handful
of songs (which is unfortunate because the crowd is extremely sparse and the
concert takes place in the middle of the day so there's plenty of great light).
When announcing the Chicks, the DJ lists their accomplishments as having two
hits concurrently on TNN meaning this video is most certainly an earlier show
than the Birmingham Fairgrounds video and probably
very early on with Natalie as the new lead singer. For die-hard completists
only.
