One of the few boots available from when the Chicks were still on the "fair" circuit; this one is from Birmingham City Stages. The cd is particularly bad with a lot of audience noise and terrible muffling of the music. The video, from which this cd was derived, might be of interest to collectors- the Chicks perform some of their biggest hits in front of an audience that couldn't be more bored or uninterested. At one point Natalie says "Y'all don't even care do you?". It's a far cry from the glitz and costumes and lighting effects of their NBC On the Fly Special and a chance to see the Chicks much more down-to-earth, less costumey, and really rocking it up. Martie and Emily, who've been performing far longer, have always seemed to maintain a professional presence on stage (even in their early 'Cowgirl' days) but Natalie's transformation is really something to behold. Early fair appearances like this really show her to be much more reserved, much less confident in the role of "lead" singer, but even here, the talent is clearly evident. The video is shot fairly poorly and should be accompanied by the same type of warning they used to attach to certain Japanese cartoons, "May cause epileptic fits..."
