The Road is a 2-hour syndicated radio show produced by United Stations which features 2 country performers per episode coupled with interview clips and live songs from additional country acts. The Chicks appear on at least three such episodes (gathered here on this 2-cd set) with all of the live tracks originating from one performance at the El Cajon Performing Arts Center in California (1998). Given the shorter length of earlier Chicks concerts, the nine different tracks represented here are probably close to the full performance but the original order may forever be unknown.

Original radio shows are very desirable to collectors as they represent both the best available live recordings available for musical acts and are produced in very limited numbers. Early soundboard recordings of Chicks shows from 1998, their first full year of major venue touring with Natalie, are completely non-existent.

There are rumours that The Road will be featuring the Chicks for a full 2-hour July 4th special.
