Formally called "Off the Tracks", disc 1 of this 2-cd fan-produced
set compiled Chick duets, rarities, and solo sessions
and was made obsolete by the Ultra Rare Trax
box set. Disc 2, however, should still be of interest to hardcore Chicks fans,
gathering the original recordings of the plethora of songs the Chicks have covered
for their two major label releases. Casual fans will no doubt be surprised at
just how many of the Chicks biggest hits are actually just cover songs- sometimes
of major label artists like Bonnie Raitt or more local acts like Joy Lynn White
and The Ranch. The contrast (and sometimes similarities) between the Chicks
version and the original songs is a testament to both the Chicks versatility
and to how tight a leash their record label keeps them on. Disc 2 also includes
parodies of several Chicks songs and a remix of There's Your Trouble by London
DJ Jay Joyce.
